Oscar & Marcella CookeOscar & Marcella Cooke’s dream was to preserve a part of our country’s past. As they painstakingly brought historic buildings from all over our region to their new location at the then, Oscar’s Dreamland, the historic town of Cookeville was born. Our ability to remember those simpler times in such a majestic setting provides a superb background for your social or business event.
We take pride in working with you on coordinating your event. No detail is too small. Our wild west hospitality will provide your group with a truly memorable experience. We as a community are so grateful that Oscar & Marcella had the foresight to leave us with such a valuable link to our past. We invite all to come and share this “Special Place,” with us. |
Oscar's Dreamland
The museum known as Oscar's Dreamland closed in 1998, due to a forced sale of the antique collection to settle I.R.S. Inheritance taxes. With only the Pioneer town remaining the family renamed the town and surrounding area Oscar's Park. Following is a brochure of the former Museum, listing the many treasures that once made up the world famous Oscar's Dreamland Museum.
There is an Oscar's Dreamland Book that includes all the descriptions of every item in Oscar's collection, complete with many of his own stories. And there are also two Oscar's Dreamland video's. One showing the museum alive and well with many pieces of machinery actually running. The second being of the world renowned auction that took place in June of 1998.
